Metamorphosis
by Roger Johnsenon 12 April 2011
In this project I illustrated the Metamorphosis EP of the Oslo-based band Ulver, which showed a band in change. Mainly instrumental, with obvious urban vibes and a noir feeling to it, it felt very natural to me to illustrate this with analogue photography from Oslo's foggy streets, using the title of their song "Limbo Central" as a work-title. I consciously tried not to emphasise human figures and focused more on geometry and sheer dark musical mood. And after having exploited foggy evenings, and having spent a lot of time scanning the negatives, came the work of editing this into an actual booklet in InDesign.
